Boss Steve Burr is demanding a response from his players after they left their FA Trophy hopes hanging by the thinnest of threads with a poor home performance and 5-1 defeat at the hands of Stevenage on Saturday.
A rampant and clinical Borough side ran riot at Aggborough and smashed five past Harriers to ensure they take a four-goal advantage back to the Lamex for the second leg next weekend.
Speaking after his first ever defeat as Kidderminster manager, Burr made few excuses for his players, and admitted: "It doesn't matter what level of football you're playing at, when you conceded the goals we conceded today, you're going to lose matches.
"I'm bitterly disappointed because if you take the mistakes out, I didn't think we played that badly to be honest.
"I must admit that since I've been here, at defending set-pieces we've been very good. But we took our eye off the ball and, as a team, we were short on what we have been doing.
"With it being a semi-final it's a big disappointment... but like I say, at any level of football, if you make mistakes like that you'll get punished."
Harriers now face seemingly insurmountable odds if they're to reach this year's Final, but Burr maintains that the five-goal win his side would need is not impossible.
And he looks ahead to Tuesday's game at Luton Town which comes first - Harriers heading out on the road to try and put today's woes behind them and pick up more valuable League points at the expense of a Hatters' side going strong.
"The one thing in football is that nothing is impossible," Burr added, of the Trophy scenario.
"Yes it's going to be difficult, very difficult - and I'm not going to stand here and say it's not.
"But we have got a big game on Tuesday and it is all about how we respond. The lads have been terrific since I've been here and today it was uncharacteristic of what I've seen of the players.
"The players have got to put [today] behind them because there's no point dwelling on what's gone on, that's in the past now and we've got to look at Tuesday."
