A gracious Steve Burr admits Stevenage have set the 'benchmark' for this level of football after watching his Harriers side and Boro play out a 0-0 draw at the Lamex Stadium on Saturday with a performance which pleased the Aggborough gaffer.
Harriers were faced with the steepest of challenges rolling into Stevenage this afternoon, trailing by four goals after last weekend's first leg semi at Aggborough.
Today, however, was more more about winning the match than the tie - and to that end Harriers certainly did all they could to down Wembley-bound Boro on their own patch.
On the back of two straight defeats, boss Burr praised his players' character, admitting: "I think Stevenage have seen more of the real Kidderminster today that I've come to see over the last month.
"The tie was always going to be difficult [but we wanted] to win the game and show Stevenage that that wasn't us last week.
"But they took their chances last week and are deservedly through to the final.
"I said to the lads before the game; 'Let's just try and win today's game.'
"They showed a lot of character... we had a number of opportunities to score..I thought we did very well against a very good side."
Whilst Harriers may have restored some pride in today's second leg, the plaudits will rest with the hosts who go through to the Trophy Final to face Barrow on the strength of their 5-1 first leg win.
Burr was typically gracious in what was an overall semi-final defeat. adding: "This is a tough place to come - they haven't lost here and they have been scoring goals; they are scoring a lot of goals.
"They're a strong unit all-round. You have to look at the benchmark Stevenage have set in this division and that is what you aspire to.
"Congratulations to Graham Westley and his side for getting through today."
