TIME TO BOUNCE BACK : Boss Mark Yates admits the character of the Aggborough dressing room will be tested after today's defeat.

BOSS Mark Yates refused to be downbeat following today's defeat at Forest Green Rovers and heaped praise on the team for what he called one of the best for a while.

The Aggborough Chief was understandably disappointed that Harriers failed to take many of the chances they created at the New Lawn this afternoon but couldn't fault what was overall a great performance.

Speaking after the game, Yates said: "We didn't take enough of our chances but we created plenty and that's the best we've played for a little while, the lads were terrific today.

"We were beaten by two good counter-attack goals but I've got no problem with my boys today - fair play to Forest Green, they've got the win today but even they might wonder how at times.

"Some of the refereeing decisions were shocking - Both benches were looking at each other at some points as we didn't have a clue what some of the free-kicks were for but my players were fantastic, we haven't created chances like we did today for quite a while now and were it not for their goalkeeper being inspired out there we could have won it by a cricket score.

"We have to bounce back now - two lapses of concentration have cost us today and of course the lads are disappointed but they've shown over this run what they can do. We won't let heads drop and we'll see what characters we have in the dressing room now, though I know full well what we've got."
