YOUTH: Bromsgrove 1-4 Harriers

Posted on: Fri 19 Mar 2010

Harriers stormed into the Final of the Worcestershire U18s Youth Cup after a strong second half showing at Bromsgrove Rovers got them a 4-1 win last night.

The visiting side weren't at their best in the first half and fell behind as Rovers took the lead through former Harrier Adrian Hylton.

Trailing at the break, a response was needed ahead of the second period and the boys from Aggborough certainly produced one. Soon after the re-start they were level, Robert-Thompson Brown latching onto a neat ball before chipping it over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

Sensing proverbial blood, Harriers kept on the attack and were soon ahead when Chris Seekings saw his cross-cum-shot fly into the home goal for 2-1. Our third of the night game from the penalty spot - after front-man Sam Woodhouse had been brought down in the area, Jamie Insall stepped up to do the honours from 12 yards.

The scoring for the night was complete when Insall made it 4-1 with the best of the bunch - with some fine skill at the by-line to leave his man standing; he rammed the ball into the top corner of the net to send his side through.

Harriers will now meet Stourbridge in this year's Final, a chance for them to defend the crown they won last year with a 5-0 demolition of Stourbridge. We'll bring you more details on a date when we get it.
