Harriers' Youth got their season off to a flyer on Wednesday evening - - a 15-minute hat-trick from George Coley among the highlights in a storming 7-0 win over Bromyard Town at Aggborough.
The home side really should have been ahead after just 13 minutes of this one - Lyle Poolton's good control and cross in the box finding Ben Rogerson at the far post who could only fire over the bar with the goal at his mercy.
Four minutes later the breakthrough came; a corner headed back across the face of goal saw Redd Savage nod in from close range to put his side in front.
From there it was plain sailing and Harriers were rarely threatened by the visitors in their way to notching two more before the break - Rogerson being played into the box on 36 minutes and drawing the keeper before slotting home for 2-0, before scorer turned provider as he set up Andrew Kenny for a neat finish and Harriers' third two minutes later.
Seven minutes after the break the boys in red had a marvellous chance to make it four when they were awarded a penalty in the area following a handball by Bromyard's Matt Gwynne, however Shane Bennett put too much on the resultant spot-kick and sent it flying over the bar.
The visitors had their best chance of the night three minutes after the hour when Will Tolley wrestled free on the edge of the box, his finish looked destined for the back of the net before Amoum Ayik got back to clear it off the foot of the post.
The goals then started to flow for Harriers following the introduction of Grant Underhill, Chris Hutton and Coley in the second period.
Firstly, on 73 minutes, Hutton's excellently-weighted cross was met with an equally fine finish from Underhill who worked it in off the post and into the back of the net for the hosts' fourth.
Barely a minute later it was 5-0; a beautiful passing move on the edge of the area saw Coley presented with the ball at his feet, finishing confidently past the goalkeeper.
Just two minutes further along five became six as Coley grabbed his second - again latching onto a Hutton ball before easing home.
The final goal of the night saw the youngster complete his hat-trick in the dying seconds - Matt Smith's lofted ball drew a header in the six-yard area that stopper Alex Rhodes did superbly to keep out; his parry however fell straight to Coley's feet allowing him to blast into the roof of the net.
