Aggborough fan-favourite Danny Lewis will be a footballer making up for lost time during the 2012/13 campaign after being robbed of more than six months of his career.

Lewis has never been a stranger to the club – he was plucked from the lower-reaches of non-league to sign for Harriers in the Football League back in 2004, spending two years in Worcestershire as a teenager before departing.

In the forthcoming years the shot-stopper took his kicks and learned his trade, making a huge impression in the upper echelons of the non-league game before being snapped up by Harriers once more in 2010.

In his first season back he was Player of the Season as the club narrowly missed out on the play-offs, Danny then playing in the first dozen games of last season before suffering a harrowing ACL injury.

Reconstructive surgery and lengthy intensive rehab meant Danny had to watch on from the sidelines as Harriers again went so close to a top-five finish, returning to full training just prior to the end of the term.
