Reiss and Jaiden sign on

Youngsters handed opportunity with Harriers first team for 2019/20….

HARRIERS are delighted to confirm that two of its Academy players have been handed first professional contacts with the club.

17-year-old striker Jaiden White and winger Reiss Taylor-Randle, 18, have been added to the first team squad for the 2019/20 campaign.

The duo have made a big impression as part of the Academy over the last season plus, featuring in the likes of the ECFA Cup and National League U19 Alliance teams that achieved runners-up honours.

They’ve also made their mark in the first team, too, training regularly during last season.

Taylor-Randle went on to make two appearances in 2018/19, while White made four appearances including a start in the final game of the season against Guiseley.

Their ‘promotion’ to the first team is yet another huge mark of success for the club’s Academy set-up, and we look forward to seeing how both Jaiden and Reiss continue to develop in the forthcoming term.

“I think if the players are good enough, or have potential, then they need opportunity.” John Pemberton

Boss John Pemberton is keen to see Harriers’ young guns get their chance to shine.

He has warned, however, that they’ll be expected to meet the same standards as any other members of the squad.

He reflected: “A lot of complaints at football clubs is that ‘our young players don’t get the opportunity.’

“I think if the players are good enough, or have potential, then they need opportunity.

“I am not expecting young players to set the word alight, but I am certainly looking at the way they are, how they conduct themselves and their enthusiasm and attitude.

“You give me those [traits] in a young player and I can work with that and make it better.”
