HARRIERS had to make do with a share of the spoils at Guiseley at the Reds were held 0-0 at Guiseley.

Harriers had the greater share of key chances in the game but couldn't find the back of the net, while the home side's robust and towering attack were well dealt with throughout.

The visitors had to be on their guard in the opening quarter-hour as they blocked away a number of efforts, Williams up at the other end seeing a shot deflected over.

Goalkeeper Green did well to snatch a Chambers cross on 15 minutes and, just after, easily the best chance of the half for Guiseley saw Thornton plant a header wide.

The 26th minute saw Williams go agonisingly close to an opener and a 12th goal of the season - Taylor's ball squared to him before Williams stabbed just wide.

Two more big chances came Harriers way in the final minutes of the half - Chambers firing over with an attempted lob on Green before Wiliams, winning the ball out wide, cut wide with his shot on the angle.

Seven after the restart, the lively Bradley was played through on goal by Weeks' excellently-weighted ball. One-on-one, the former Tamworth man was only able to drag his attempt just wide.

Soon after, Vaughan surged forward and hit a swerving shot that Green got behind and held, before sub Kane Richards slotted wide after battling his way into the area.

Brandon Hall had to wait until eight from time before getting his first real save of the day in - it was one he needed to make, too, as a distance effort from Heaton moved in the air.

In the game's final moments, Weeks struck over from a free-kick before Hatfield at one end and Richards at the other both sliced shots over the bar.

Kane Richards is looking for Harriers to bounce back from a disappointing defeat last Saturday, as the Reds travel to face Guiseley.

A week ago, FC United travelled to Aggborough but despite Ed Williams' early opener, two Jack Banister goals sealed three points for the away side.

Striker Richards was disappointed that Harriers didn't reach their own high standards against FC United, but he wants to ensure Harriers don't let that happen again.

"We're very hard on ourselves and set high standards, so we were disappointed to lose the game, but it's hard to go the season unbeaten," said Richards.

"We weren't good enough on the day, we know that, but they've got two goals from two deflections and after that we struggled to get back into the game.

"It's all part of learning, but we need to learn quickly and make sure it doesn't happen again".

Richards has frequently made his way onto the pitch from the bench this season, appearing in every match so far, but is yet to make his first Harriers start.

While he would like to play as often as possible, Richards recognises that the competition amongst the squad is a positive.

"There is competition everywhere, we've got a very strong side - I know that and all the boys know that, so that's why when you get in the team, you want to do all that you can to stay in the team," said Richards.

"I'm happy with some of my performances and I'm happy to come when needed and help the team but at the same time, I want to be playing as much as possible.

"I've just got to keep working hard, keep doing what I'm doing and see where it takes me".

Harriers travel to Nethermoor Park to face The Lions, who currently sit in 11th position in the National League North.

Their form in the last five matches is good, picking up ten points from a possible 15.

Richards knows that it will be a difficult match, but is hopeful that Harriers can pick up three points.

"Hopefully we can bounce back against Guiseley," said Richards.

"I've played Guiseley a few times and it's never a nice place to go, but we've been putting the work in on the training ground, so we want to go there and get a win".

Harriers head into the match with a fully fit squad to pick from.
