A YOUNG Harriers side were beaten 4-0 by Stourbridge in a pre-season friendly.
Harriers were represented by a team of Academy players from the U19 and U23 ranks and stood up to the task excellently, particularly in the first hour.
Their brave resistance, particularly that of goalkeeper Ewan Mountjoy, was punctured past the hour as Kieran Cook fired a good effort into the bottom corner and Mike McGrath nodded in a corner in quick succession.
Earlier, Jaiden White and Bailey Fuller had fired good ammunition into the home area that just lacked a killer touch, Fuller then rising a free-kick over the bar.
Stourbridge arguably deserved their breakthrough when it came, Taylor in particular had been thwarted by Mountjoy who'd produced some improbable saves before Cook's effort broke the deadlock.
With 75 on the clock, Harriers hit the woodwork when Knory Scott's rising effort bounced off the bar, with the home side's third coming as Cook superbly swept home his second on 83 minutes - a low first-time effort Mountjoy could do little about.
Cook's hat-trick was complete with the last kick of the game - his free-kick from some 25 yards appearing to cruise past a crowd of bodies and into the net.
