Further Education

Kidderminster Harriers prides itself on its excellent educational opportunities.

In conjunction with professional training and competitive matches, here is a brief overview of what students can expect when studying with us for Further Education:

Kidderminter Harriers FC Football Academy

Kidderminster Harriers is linked with two education providers to offer a wide curriculum choice for its players. Players can choose a wide range of A levels to study at Baxter College in Kidderminster or BTEC Sport at Level 1, 2 or Level 3 at BMET Stourbridge.

The successful Kidderminster Harriers Football Academy is in its ninth year and has produced successful players ready to start professional careers, with nine students having been offered professional contracts with Kidderminster Harriers first team, winning a steady stream of accolades in local, regional and national football competitions. Former Harriers players Tyrone Williams and Luke Maxwell, both Academy graduates, were sold to clubs at higher levels after breaking into the Harriers first team – the latter being sold to Championship side Birmingham City for £75,000.

The Academy’s aims…

To increase the opportunities available for students to continue to develop their academic studies alongside competitive football.

To offer an academic pathway for learners that includes a variety of choices, where they are supported and given the opportunity to develop. This pathway extends to degree level study at Kidderminster Harriers in partnership with University of Worcester and Birmingham City University.

To offer a football pathway from youth team to first team football.

Playing Opportunities

Players in the post-16 Football Academy are selected into teams according to ability. Teams are entered in the following leagues:

  • The National League U19 Alliance
  • ECFA College Leagues

Players also have the opportunity to be selected to represent Kidderminster Harriers FC in the FA Youth Cup.
