Over the course of the last two years, Kidderminster Harriers have made huge strides in developing its Junior section.
In line with our overall club philosophy, these developments have been made with the overall aim to inspire young children to play football and provide exciting opportunities for them to develop in their local community.
In October 2017, Harriers expanded their junior team sections across the Worcestershire area with the introduction of the Malvern Performance Hub, based at Malvern College.
Over 100 children came to trial at Malvern College which is set in over 40 acres of land underneath the Malvern Hills that includes 12 grass football pitches and two full size astro turf pitches. Around 35 children were selected to form an Under 10s and Under 11s squad.
Due to the popularity of the club in the area, the club have quickly grown and in November we saw the introduction of an Under 12s squad. Over the course of the season, these children have been and will be developing their skills and honing their talents with the help of our experienced and highly qualified coaches including our very own first team goalkeeper, Tom Palmer.
With the expansion of our junior teams, Kidderminster Harriers is providing an exciting and structured pathway for youngsters as young as five years old to start enjoying their football in a fun and relaxed environment, all the way through to our 16-18 BMet College programme, our Under 23s Foundation Degree programme and, of course, the first team.
It is an exciting time to part of the club and these developments go to show how the club really is the pride of Worcestershire!
