Report: Harriers 5-0 Wolves XI

Report from the pre-season friendly against a Wolves XI at Aggborough…

Ashley Chambers

ASHLEY Chambers inspired Harriers to a comfortable 5-0 pre-season win over a Wolves XI at Aggborough.

Chambers netted four times on the night, including a first-half hat-trick featuring a sublime solo goal.

Ed Williams was also on the score sheet as Harriers signed off their home pre-season campaign in emphatic style.

Harriers were ahead as early as the sixth minute; Chambers upended in the box to the award of a penalty that he duly converted.

Prosser then saw a shot held before, on ten minutes, goalkeeper Marcin Brzozowski forced into a low save from a Niall Ennis shot.

Milan Butterfield kept the visiting goal ticking over before the second goal arrived on 32 minutes after Williams was fouled while following up a Prosser shot – Chambers again doing the honours from 12 yards.

The third arrived on the stroke of half time as Chambers bagged his third – a superb, solo effort that saw him run from deep in his own half before superbly firing the ball beyond the goalkeeper.

Chambers kept up his scoring run with his fourth of the night just six minutes after the restart, notching a third penalty, into the top corner, after a handball in the area.

Pardington’s save denied Williams five minutes later but, three past the hour, Ed had his goal, a calm finish capping off a sensational passing move that set Austin free out wide.

The final third of the game was decidedly quieter, though John Pemberton was able to introduce the likes of Knory Scott, Darragh and Shane Lowth, and James Dutton as the half wore on.
